Art Cards
These 4″x6″ art cards are a simple way to reduce your collection of painty scrap paper while creating a ready-to-use base for exploration, inspiration, and functional paper crafts. For backgrounds, consider magazines, book pages, or other interesting paper scraps too. Use card stock, heavy scrapbook paper you no longer love, or index cards for the base. You can even repurpose 4″x6″ scrap photos for a base. Start with pieces slightly larger than the card and trim the edges for neat look.
Make a collection of cards as an alternative to the usual art journal page or ATC. Experiment with colors, layers, textures, images, and marks to create a series simply for the fun of making.
With a little lettering or a favorite sentiment, an art card can become something more. Stamp the back with a postcard stamp and send it as a one-of-a-kind piece of memorable mail. Or make themed sets of journal cards based on colors, seasons, subjects, or favorite images.
Add a tab and cheer up index cards for the office or gift giving. Spice up your recipe card collection too or any storage system with dividers.
Make stacks to keep throughout your craft room, office, or home, giving you an easy supply of creative and functional paper pieces whenever you have a few minutes to create.
Happy paper crafting!
