Having a play with some new stencils and creating some subtle background papers to add to my paper collection. I used copy paper. A few basic tips are to use stencils with some negative space so there is room for two designs. Use analogous or monochromatic colors and begin with the stencil that has the most negative space. 
For your second stencil choose a pattern that is small enough to fit in the negative space and stencil on the white areas. Allow to dry and then use clear water to blend all colors on the paper.
