Tuck a Treat Envelope Closure

Add a corner bookmark to the flap of these envelopes for a simple closure and then tuck in a treat of your choice. Any size rectangle shape paper will do for the envelope but these are 5 1/2″ x 11″ and should hold a square candy treat or tea. Paper hearts, tickets, tags or other ephemera of your choice will work splendidly for happy mail.

The closure is also any size rectangle scrap but the wider your rectangle the deeper the closure, being mindful that if it is too deep your flap won’t release to open your envelope. For a final touch embellish the front of the closure like the one shown.

You can also enhance the top of the closure with a fancy edge by using an edge paper punch or edge dies. Maneuver a fancy corner punch to make decorative corners. Decorative scissors will also work. Add lace, a paper ruffle or washi tape instead if desired. For a distressed look just tear the top.

Fill the inside of the envelope with a note or card.

The money holder envelope is 9″x9″ and will hold a US bill. It  is easy fold, no glue. You can tuck a tag, a small bouquet of dried flowers, any embellishment or a card inside for extra decoration.

These envelopes are sweet for Valentine giving but they are definitely all season favorites that assemble quickly and offer plenty of room for creative expression.

Happy paper crafting!
