Let your imagination soar and create these cylinder shaped dangles to use as fan pulls, blind pulls, door knob hangers from a pantry, china cabinet or desk, light chain pulls or holiday ornaments. Add a bell and hang from an entry door. Add a crystal and hang in a window to cast some rainbows on sunny days. Made from recycled packaging and easy to find items. Turn your trash into treasure.

You’ll need some packaging, cereal boxes are ideal, some paperclips, glue, tape, string, beads and if you have jeweler’s pliers that will make things easier. If you don’t have beads make some paper beads to match. 

Choose your cylinder wrap:

• paper
• fabric, embroidered fabric or slow stitched fabric
• twine or raffia
• washi tape
• momigami paper
• wrapping paper or wallpaper
• napkins
• labels or maps
• book pages or music pages
• lace, yarn or thread
• leather
• paint

Choose any other item you want as a decoration. Some trim to wrap the top or bottom edge can add an extra touch. Some glitter, glitter glass or jewels will add some sparkle.

You’ll also want to cover the top and bottom of your cylinder. The easiest is to paint it. 

Follow the video tutorial for basic construction. The packaging material width shown is 2 3/4″ but you can make them any length. Make them shorter to look like spools. 

With so many styles and uses limited only by your imagination you’ll have fun making these fan pull dangle ornaments to hang around the house or even your car.
