Findings – The Art Scavenger

Inspiration - Findings

If you scavenge Pinterest as much as I do you’ll often run across many freebies. I’ve been collecting some of the sites that aren’t so well known so I thought I would begin a review of these sites. You’ll find them under the blog menu.

My first finding post is from The Art Scavenger and these lovely little tea cups caught my eye. Naomi is the owner of the site and she began collecting public domain images in 2020 and arranging them in to collage sheets. I suspect her site has gotten a lot of views because it does take a lot of work to not only find images but make them suitable for projects or downloads so her little collages are fabulous finds.

At left is a sample page from the site. The site is well designed with easy to access art through download buttons but as with many sites download the pdf instead of the .jpg or you won’t get a good resolution and will have to change it to make it suitable to print, shrinking the image. If you have Photoshop or some other suitable image software be sure the resolution is at least 150, but 300 is best.

The other nice thing about the site is that you will be visiting for a while just to browse the suggestions that pop up at the bottom of the page. I am including the terms of use. If you care to look for the original source to ensure copyright free status for commercial use, just use Tineye and you will often find it.

I think Naomi’s site is a fabulous find, links above and in feature pics, I hope you’ll pay her site a visit.

Terms of use
The collage sheets created by The Art Scavenger and provided on this website are free to use for personal or commercial projects. You may print the collage sheets as many times as you wish for your personal crafts or in your projects to sell, including: art journals, scrapbooks, junk journals, collage art, etc. You may not redistribute or sell the collage sheets “as is” in either print or digital form.

If you wish to share the files on your own website, please do not make the files available for download directly from your site. Instead, include an image with a link back to this site. Pinning is always welcome and appreciated!

To the best of my knowledge, these are all royalty free images that are in the public domain in the US. However, you should always do your own research if you plan to use them commercially.

Happy paper crafting!

I hope these sites inspire you to begin your own finding list. You can find the entire list of my own collection of resources below, updated often. And as always there are plenty of free downloads throughout posts on this site as shown below.

Tea cup gift tags – What I made with this collage set. I wanted to take advantage of the bright colors but couldn’t find any paper in my collection that would work well enough so I printed them on vintage paper instead of white. It was a use up my scraps kind of day. I’ll use these tags for tea and treat gifts for my daughter who is really in to tea these days.
