What you’ll need:
1 – 4″x12″ piece double sided scrapbook paper
1 – 2 3/4″ square (optional, you can use whatever shape you like)
2 – 2 1/4″ or slightly smaller squares
Embellishment/die cut (your choice)
Card stock mat – 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ (optional)
Scoreboard or scoring tool
Glue
Place your paper along the top of your scoreboard at the 12″ side and score at 4″ and 8″. Fold and burnish.
Fold the right edge of the paper top down in a diagonal direction to meet the bottom edge and the scoreline on the left.
Fold the left side in and then fold the bottom backwards and up in a diagonal direction to meet at the edge and top as shown.
Make sure as you fold each triangle shape flap in that they are different and that the center diagonal seam closes nicely with no bulge or gap. Burnish and glue down each flap. Glue the right side flap at the bottom to make a pocket.
Glue two of your squares together, place on the front meeting two corner points with the diagonal seam and attach with glue. This can be off centered or centered. Embellish as desired. Glue the smaller square on the back as shown for a message or sentiment.
Use any die cut or shape to embellish the front. Turn squares into gift boxes wrapped with a ribbon or bow, or create an ornament from a circle. Use a star or any other die cut, cups and birds are a good choice. Make a dimensional flower and add a little glitter to turn it into a Christmas flower. You can also just add a sentiment or collage.
This gift card holder is so versatile and fun, make a bunch and store for any occasion.
Happy paper crafting!
