What you’ll need:
1 – 6″ x 5 1/4″ piece of paper (your choice)
Scoreboard or scoring tool
Corner rounder (1″ works best)
Glue
Begin by aligning your 5 1/4″ side of your paper at the top of your scoreboard. Score at 3/4″, rotate 180º and make another score at 3/4″ on the opposite side.
Align your 6″ side at the top of your scoreboard and score at 1 1/4″ and 3 3/4″.
Burnish and fold.
Cut out the four rectangles at the top and bottom. Cut the center rectangles at a slight inward angle at the bottom. Gently bend but don’t crease and align the corners of your envelope bottom and cut toward the scoreline at a slight angle. Repeat for the top flap of the envelope. This will ensure each side is symmetrical.
Round the center outer flap corners with a corner rounder. Round the four corners of your angled sides. Fold and glue as shown.
If you desire a belly band closure you will need a 6″ strip, any width to wrap around your envelope. You can also use a simple circle as a closure. Align halfway at the bottom of your open flap and glue below that line.
Embellish as desired.
Happy paper crafting!
