I do like the car in the bottom image but wish I would’ve placed some more magazine confetti to break up the line of the pants. I also could’ve added some very thin torn strips of red or gray next to the red stripe in the upper left even though the black coat is no longer recognizable, it would’ve helped create more color blocks instead of obvious shapes. Create and learn.

What you’ll need:

Embossing folders (your choice).
Magazine images
50/50 alcohol water spray

Choose embossing folders that will most likely distress the parts of your image you don’t want while adding dimension that you do want as shown by the debossed image feather design.
Black and white images work best because there is less contrast but you can choose a simple graphic image surrounded by a single color as you explore this technique. I chose two advertising images by the same brand but the results with the black and white image were more pleasing. There are a few tips in the video tutorial that you might utilize to break up strong lines in order to camouflage obvious image lines.
Cut some hearts or other recognizable shapes to add more interest to your design. Add some washi, labels or other embellishments until you are satisfied with the results. Edge your border with ink, paint or marker or leave as is and back your base with more paper for writing if desired.
Happy paper crafting!
